My digital portfolio contains examples of my work within both traditional and digital art. While putting together my portfolio I really enjoyed experimenting with a range of media: soft pastels, oil and gouache paints, graphite and pastel pencils. I have also included several digital illustrations. Some of the work I have included is drawn/ painted from imagination other with the help of reference photographs or through observation.

At the moment in my art classes where I have produced the observational pieces, I am working towards improving my current skills and trying new techniques. I also really enjoy experimenting with different media. I recently started painting with watercolours as I find this particular medium extremely interesting thought very challenging.

I am interested in the Interior Design programme because I believe that it is the right choice for me, having in mind my interests and ambitions. I believe that both the course at Manchester Metropolitan University and the City of Manchester itself will contribute to improve my skills and acquire new ones, meet many interesting people and have great experiences that will all help me on my way to pursuing the career of an interior designer.

I understand that the design industry is not easy to break into and that the interior design course itself will be really challenging and it will require not only creativity and skills but also ambition, commitment and strong motivation. I believe I possess these qualities and would make a valuable contribution to the course.

This is a photograph of a broken light bulb which tungsten filament I replaced with a wire bent to form "bad idea".
This is another take on the broken light bulb=bad idea concept this time as a simple graphite drawing.

This is a digital painting I made in Adobe Photoshop with a graphics tablet.

This is a rough sketch of a design I saw in a magazine and really liked.

These are some of the drawings I made while experimenting with the technique of making scratches on black acrylic paint painted over oil pastel.

These are my initial sketches of the design of a lamp which I later incorporated into the interior design project.

This is the first digital painting I made on Adobe Photoshop with a drawing tablet. My aim was to make it look as realistic as possible and for that reason I used a reference photograph.
This is an observational graphite drawing of a sculpture made of plaster.

This is an oil painting of a friend on a 20x26cm.canvas panel. I used a photograph as a reference.

This is a sketch sheet for a self-initiated interior design project. The inspiration for this project came from many different sources. The initial idea was only the design of the lamp but I decided to incorporate it into an interior space. The design of a business card inspired me for the colour combination. I have really liked the idea of text on a wall which I had previously seen in several design blogs so I decided to put the definition of interior design from wikipedia.org on one of the walls. I also added a coffee table, some pillows and prints, one lamp hanging from the ceiling and another one illuminating the text on the wall.
This is the finished interior design project made as an illustration in Adobe Photoshop with a drawing tablet.
